Affiliate Program

Q: What is Affiliate Marketing?

Answer: Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy where businesses reward affiliates for each customer purchase made through the affiliate's marketing efforts. It involves three key parties: the product seller (merchant), the affiliate (publisher or influencer), and the customer.

Q: How can I become an affiliate for Eye Candy Pigments?

Answer: To become an affiliate, you need to sign up using the Affiliate Registration Form on our website here > https://eyecandypigments.com/pages/register-affiliate-account. This form will collect your details, allowing you to join our program and start promoting our products.

Q: What are the ways affiliates can promote products?

Answer: Affiliates can promote products through various channels, including social media posts, ads, embedding links on their websites, running email marketing campaigns, or seeding information on relevant forums.

Q: How are affiliate commissions calculated?

Answer: Commissions are calculated based on referral orders made by customers through the affiliate's marketing actions. Our system classifies affiliates per program, with each program having its own commission rate. Special product commission rules may also apply.

Q: What is a referral order?

Answer: A referral order is any order made by a customer as a result of affiliate promotion activities. These orders are the basis for calculating an affiliate's commission.

Q: How do I use an affiliate link or coupon?

Answer: Once activated, affiliates will receive an automatically generated affiliate link or can be assigned a coupon code. These tools are used to promote our products, and any orders made through these links or using the coupon code will count as referral orders.

Q: What support is available for affiliates?

Answer: Affiliates can contact us through the affiliate contact/support email provided in their affiliate account for any queries or support. This email can also be used by the merchant to send notifications to affiliates.

Q: How does the payment process work for affiliates?

Answer: Once a customer places an order via an affiliate link or coupon code and the referral order is approved, Eye Candy calculates the commission to pay the affiliate. The payment is made manually, and the affiliate receives their commission accordingly.

Answer: Yes, affiliates are encouraged to promote any product from Eye Candy Pigments. However, merchants may set special product commission rules for certain products, which will be specified in the affiliate program details.

Q: What happens if a customer returns a product that was purchased through an affiliate link?

Answer: In the event of a product return, the commission earned from that sale will be deducted from the affiliate's future payments. Our system tracks these transactions to ensure fairness and accuracy in commission payments.

Q: Are there any restrictions on how I can promote Eye Candy Pigments products as an affiliate?

Answer: While we encourage creativity in promotion, we do have guidelines to ensure our brand is represented appropriately. Prohibited practices include misleading advertising, spamming, and violation of copyright laws. Affiliates should refer to our program terms for a full list of guidelines.

Q: Can I track the performance of my affiliate link?

Answer: Yes, affiliates can track the performance of their affiliate links directly through their affiliate dashboard. This includes views, clicks, and the number of referral orders generated.

Q: How often are commissions paid out to affiliates?

Epoxy Information / Ratios

The most common question that we receive is "How much pigment per gallon of epoxy?".

This is a very valid question and unfortunately there is no set answer due to the numerous types of applications and variations.

For example:

Are you looking for an opaque or transparent look? Lighter colors may take more pigment to achieve the color.

This is why we recommend the 2 grams per 8 oz and add as desired.

The short answer is yes. It could become a factor especially in epoxy deep pours.

WATCH THIS QUICK VIDEO TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE

Typical pigments average 10-60um. Be aware that larger micron sized pigments will most likely have a heavier density which will cause the pigment to sink faster in fresh epoxy such as deep pours.

For example, our Icicle or 14k Nugget Gold is 200-700um and will most likely sink in fresh epoxy faster.

To alleviate sinking either let the epoxy settle up a little bit. Or, come back through your project to "stir" it a little more.

Typically the majority of the pigments on the market are in the 10-60um (micron) size. Although the majority of our pigments fall into this category, we have some pigments that go up to 1000um.

An easy rule of thumb to remember, the larger the micron size, the larger the particle.

Why does this matter? The larger the size, most likely you will have more shimmer, metallic, glittery look.

Can I use for automotive paint?

Yes.

The majority of our pigments can and have been used for automotive.
The majority of our pigments can be sprayed through a 1.2 tip

Three ways to use our pigments for spraying:

  • Mix directly into the base color to create a unique blend
  • Mix and spray with your mid clear over the base color
  • Mix and spray with your top coat.
  • Typically we do not recommend this due to the possibilities of striping.
  • Also, we use the top coat as a UV protector or possible sanding of the top coat, etc.
  • Standard Automotive Clears - 25 Grams Per Gallon
  • For lighter colors such as yellows, whites, etc. it may require slightly more.

Yes. Depending on the base color and the pigment color you may see drastic changes.

We highly recommend using a like colored base. Most dark colored pigments can be used with a black base.

ALWAYS test before full application!

Removable paints like PlastiDip, HaloEfx, AutoFlex?

Absolutely! That's actually how Eye Candy started in Japan years ago. Our pigments and flakes can be used in these removable paint applications.

Typically you will use 50 grams per gallon for your normal pigments.

Our Ultrashift pigments you would need no more than 25 grams.

Peelable Coatings:

  • The majority of our pigments can be sprayed through a 1.2 tip
Be aware of the micron size.
  • The larger the particle you may have to go to a larger tip.
  • The pigments can be mixed with the base color or mixed into the clear and sprayed over the base color.
  • The base color may impact the overall color of the pigment.
  • Light colored pigments yellows, pinks, etc., we recommend using a white base or a like colored base.
  • Dark colored pigments, we recommend using a black or dark colored base

Can you use for acrylic paint pours?

Absolutely! Artists are finding out that the quality of our pigments and specialized colors are perfect for this type of application!

We realize there are numerous types of applications but below are some basics from our friend and ambassador Justin Salley.

STEP #1 - MIX YOUR POURING MEDIUM
3 parts Behr8300 Deep Base Interior/Exterior Hi-Gloss Enamel. 1 part JOSONJA Polyurethane Water Based Gloss Varnish. Mix gently folding paint and varnish together until they are completely mixed, Go Slow to reduce mixing bubbles.

STEP #2 - DISPERSING PIGMENTS INTO YOUR MEDIUM
Pour 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of JOSONJA Gloss Varnish into mixing container. Add around a teaspoon of Pigment (I generally add a little more) into your container with the JOSONJA. Mix until all Pigments have dissolved into a liquid making sure to stir any clumps out at this time.

STEP #3 - COMBINING YOUR POURING MEDIUM & DISPERSED PIGMENTS
Add around 3 Tablespoons of Pouring medium into your Dispersed Pigments. Mix thoroughly, being slow and folding rather than whipping, this will minimize the air bubbles.

STEP #4 - WHAT IF?
◦ If your new mixed color seems to thick - Add a small amount of JOSONJA and stir until you reach the desired consistency.
◦ If your new mixed color seems to thin - Add a small amount of Behr8300 (ONLY) and stir until you reach the desired consistency.

No, unfortunately our pigment pastes are specifically designed for epoxy resin. NOTE: If you are using epoxy resin to seal your acrylic work and you are wanting to "tint" the epoxy, then you would be able to use our pastes.

Other

We are more than happy to provide an SDS. Please email us at jeff@eyecandycustomz.com

Provide us the name of the products and we'll reply with the appropriate documents.

Yes, mica powders can work well with urethane casting resins. Mica powders are versatile pigments that can be mixed into various types of resins, including urethane, to add color and shimmer effects.

When using mica powders with urethane casting resin, here are a few things to consider:

  1. Compatibility: Mica powders are generally compatible with most resins, including urethane. They don’t react chemically with the resin; they just mix in to provide color and effects.
  2. Mixing: You’ll want to ensure that the mica powder is thoroughly mixed into the urethane resin to avoid clumps and ensure an even distribution of color and shimmer throughout your cast.
  3. Amount: The amount of mica powder you use can affect the opacity and depth of color. Start with a small amount and add more as needed to achieve the desired effect.
  4. Application: Urethane resins often cure faster than epoxy resins, so make sure you mix and pour your resin promptly after adding the mica powder to ensure a smooth, even finish.
