I had my eye on these for months before I pulled the trigger. I am so glad I did because I love them. I am a dicemaker and having bright bold neon colors that do not have the normal mica shimmer is awesome. I have made so many beautiful things with them.The bags are admittedly hard to work with and are small but a little bit goes a long way so they should last a while.They work best if mixed with an opaque white Pigment paste to brighten the color. They don't require a lot of powder to give bold vibrant color and they are much easier to mix in if you drip a few drops of 70%+ rubbing alcohol to mix the powder smooth before adding the resin.I love them and I will be back for more eye candy pigments!
I've been using Eye Candy pigments for awhile and my usual colors are more along the lines of jewel tones but I like to challenge myself to create with colors outside my comfort zone which us where these beauties came in! The powders are all super vibrant and of the ones that I have tested so far, they stay true to color during the resin curing process. They require a little more mixing than the pearl mice powders seem to but I found that adding a drop or two if white alcohol ink seemed to help without diluting the color. I look forward to exploring these colors more!
Oh how I love these. They are bright and beautiful. I was missing electric blue that had been accidentally switched with a pink. But I messaged the seller and made it clear I was missing a color that was switched out. They did not hesitate to send me the correct color. Jeff is very friendly and resolved the issue very quickly. I didn’t mind because these colors are freaking beautiful. My embeds are now very neon and bright for my bath bombs. My whole mica collection is mostly from eye candy. I can’t get enough. I color all of my bath products with them. And for the price, you can’t beat it. All their colors are gorgeous.
The double bag system is great for the sample set to prevent accidental spillage. Despite their other very nice powders the neons definitely clump together even after multiple thorough stirring and degassing. The neon pigments are also heavier than their other pigments. I haven’t yet found a neon that doesn’t clump though and the clump on this brand is “better.”
I would give these pigments ten stars if I could. I’ve been looking for neon pigments to make my own watercolors and keep purchasing duds and being disappointed. Every single product I’ve tried claims to be neon but ends up being pastel or pearlescent or not pigmented enough. THESE COLORS ARE FANTASTIC! The colors are extremely pigmented, extremely vibrant, dry matte, easy to use and to mix. Even though they come in a bag instead of a jar, they are double bagged for a mess free delivery. The pigments are so fine they feel like a talcum powder. I simply measured the right amount of pigment vs binder and they mixed like a dream. I would highly recommend these pigments for sure!
