These are not your typical flakes!! Takes only a little to achieve the color!!

- Molds, we are noticing that numerous artists is either putting a black in the mold first and then the Ultra Flakes or they are applying the Ultra Flakes with a brush on method.

Unfortunately there's no standard calculation when mixing pigments due to the numerous applications, and mediums that our pigments can be used with. I.E. Automotive, Epoxy, Resin, Slime, Candles, Soaps, Fishing Lures, Woodworking, Pen Blanks, Acrylic, Varnish, Clay, Grout, Flooring, Countertops, Cosmetics, Fingernail Polish, etc. the list goes on. 

These are not your typical pigments!! Takes only a little to achieve the color!!

Ultrashift pigments have the best results when there's a black base applied. 

- For automotive, for best results, first spray a black base and follow with the colorshift over top.  Recommend mixing the colorshift with your mid-clear but some choose to mix with their top coat.

- Molds, we are noticing that numerous artists is either putting a black in the mold first and then the colorshift or they are applying the colorshifts with a brush on method.

If you're spraying this pigment, I.E. Automotive, Peelable Paint, etc. the color of the base will greatly effect the final color of the Ghost Pigment.

Automotive

• Do NOT recommend for automotive use due to size and longevity. 

Epoxy / Resin

• These can be used in epoxy resin deep pours BUT, PLEASE understand that due to the density of the flake, it will most likely sink in a fresh pour.  
• These flakes are great for using as accents on smaller pours or projects.

EPOXY RATIOS

The most common question that we receive is "How much per gallon of epoxy?". This is a very valid question and unfortunately there is no set answer due to the numerous types of applications and variations. 

For our pigment pastes it takes only a little to color the epoxy resin! 

For example:

• Are you looking for an opaque or transparent look? 
• Lighter colors may take more pigment to achieve the color.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR OWN COLORS

You can create your own unique color blends by mixing our pigment paste colors together. For example, use our Satori White and Kokuyo Black pastes to create a grey and so on!

Do you want some metallic in your paste color? Our pigments and pastes work well together. Feel free to add a pigment powder to your paste until you achieve the desired look.

WHAT IS A RAL NUMBER?

It's basically a color management system used in Europe that is created and administered by Germany.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAL & PANTONE

Pantone conversion system is mainly used by graphic designers for color graphic printing. The PMS color conversion chart allows designers to "color match". RAL Effect comprises of 420 solid colors and 70 metallic colors which are represented by a unique code.

MY EPOXY RESIN PROJECT IS NOT DRYING

This could be due to using too much paste compared to the amount of epoxy resin used. Reminder, it takes only a small amount of paste to achieve color. This doesn't happen often if any at all but this paste MUST be used / mixed with epoxy resin and not by itself in order for it to dry.

    CALCULATIONS FOR MIXING OF OUR FLAKES

Unfortunately there's no standard calculation when mixing flakes due to the numerous applications, and mediums that our flakes can be used with. I.E. Automotive, Epoxy, Resin, Slime, Candles, Soaps, Fishing Lures, Woodworking, Pen Blanks, Acrylic, Varnish, Clay, Grout, Flooring, Countertops, Cosmetics, Fingernail Polish, etc. the list goes on. 

These are not your typical flakes!! Takes only a little to achieve the color!!

Ultrashift flakes have the best results when there's a black base applied. 

- Molds, we are noticing that numerous artists is either putting a black in the mold first and then the Ultra Flakes or they are applying the Ultra Flakes with a brush on method.

For our pigment pastes it takes only a little to color the epoxy resin! 

For example:

• Are you looking for an opaque or transparent look? 
• Lighter colors may take more pigment to achieve the color.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR OWN COLORS

You can create your own unique color blends by mixing our pigment paste colors together. For example, use our Satori White and Kokuyo Black pastes to create a grey and so on!

Do you want some metallic in your paste color? Our pigments and pastes work well together. Feel free to add a pigment powder to your paste until you achieve the desired look.

It's basically a color management system used in Europe that is created and administered by Germany.

Pantone conversion system is mainly used by graphic designers for color graphic printing. The PMS color conversion chart allows designers to "color match". RAL Effect comprises of 420 solid colors and 70 metallic colors which are represented by a unique code.

This could be due to using too much paste compared to the amount of epoxy resin used. Reminder, it takes only a small amount of paste to achieve color. This doesn't happen often if any at all but this paste MUST be used / mixed with epoxy resin and not by itself in order for it to dry.

Our standard for epoxy resin or automotive has been (1) container of our 50 gram pigment powder for every gallon. But, we have seen customers use MUCH less!! 

Starting out with 1g of pigment per 8 oz would be a safe start while adding more pigment as needed to achieve your desired outcome.

It's simple! Since a couple of our neon mica pigments are so close in color and our pigment pastes were developed with the ability to be mixed with each other to create your own shades of neon to match previous mica pigments while saving money!

CAN NEON PIGMENT PASTES BE MIXED WITH OTHER EYE CANDY PASTES

Yes, we've done it ourselves and with beautiful and interesting results! Try something like our Uji Green pigment paste with our yellow neon pastes. Pretty cool. Play mad scientist, mix colors and possibly find that unique color no one else has.
